I run a wide variety of meditation retreats, influenced by the Buddhist tradition. Many of my retreats focus on mindfulness practices which enhance awareness and well-being and enable us to become more present, open and honest as well as enrichening our every day experience of the world.
As well as taking us on a journey of self discovery and enabling us to become more in touch with our feelings, mindfulness practices have been shown to decrease stress, reduce blood pressure and heart disease and increase concentration. They are also helpful in managing pain, addiction, depression and anxiety.
When combined with practices aimed at developing greater compassion for both yourself and others, meditation can have a dramatic effect on your every day life. As your awareness grows and your heart opens, you will find yourself naturally drawn towards that which is true to your heart.
Meditation is an art, not a science (though some would argue that it is both as a growing body of scientific evidence now showcases its physical, mental and emotional benefits). As well as teaching various meditation practices, most of my retreats will explore particular themes or philosophies which underpin the practices. There’ll also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share your experience with others. There will also be plenty of relaxation time, when you are free to enjoy scenic nature, read, make new friends or simply be.
I run a variety of retreats for both teenagers and adults for varying levels of experience. I regularly work with other expert practitioners in order to incorporate yoga, nature walks and other activities which help to enhance awareness and promote inner well-being.
